Azerbaijani MPs Criticize Bryza for ‘Pro-Armenian’ Views

At today’s session of the Milli Majlis (Milli Məclis) in Azerbaijan, MPs discussed the opening of the airport in Stepanakert, the capital of Nagorno-Karabakh, and issues related to the commencement of flights.

According to the Baku-based APA news agency, MP Azay Guliyev said that while “the Azeri side has given an adequate response to the Armenians, the position of US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza was not as adequate.”

“Moreover, the ambassador in his statement attempted to draw a parallel between Azerbaijan aircraft flights to Nakhchivan and flights from Armenia to the occupied territories. US administration officials shouldn’t allow themselves to make such mistakes in their statements,” said the deputy.

MP Fazail Agamali accused the US ambassador of bias. “He still hasn’t taken off his pro-Armenian jacket. I think that Matthew Bryza should watch his comments.”
