There is dialogue between Armenia’s leadership and the opposition, as well as among opposition forces, but this dialogue is “inadequate for the public,” said Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun, or ARF-D) MP Ruzanna Arakelyan today during a discussion organized by the Yerevan Press Club titled “Aims, Problems, Obstacles and Possibilities of Political Dialogue in Armenia.”
According to Arakelyan, dialogue is important in any situation. “Whatever situation Dashnaktsutyun has been in, whatever situation former authorities have tried to put Dashnaktsutyun in, nevertheless, Dashnaktsutyun found a way to establish relations without damaging the country.”
Citing Armenian revolutionary Garegin Njdeh, she said, “He said I reject the philosophy that the aim justifies the means, because the goal can be very fair and honest, but the means despicable. Thus, I think, all political entities should be guided by this viewpoint.”
