Around 11 am today, Armenian National Congress (HAK) activists noticed a few youth along Mashtots Ave. taking down the posters advertising the opposition group’s upcoming Apr. 28 rally. This news was conveyed to Epress.am by HAK activist Sargis Gevorgyan.
According to Gevorgyan, the youth, speaking to each other, said, “Only tear down the 28.” Furthermore, HAK activists came across a similar group along Koryun street. “An old man was tearing down [the flyers] on Koryun street. We asked what are you doing; he said whatever they tell me to do.”
The man, according to Gevorgyan, confessed that the “command” came from Yerevan City Hall; however, he renounced his words when city employees approached him, who explained that “there’s a general decision to strip all posted flyers.”
However, HAK activists insist that only their flyers are being torn down, “while the remainder are left as they are.”
