Tavush Resident Attempted to Sell Threatened Species Vulture for $500

On Apr. 22, the police division in Tavush marz (province) received news from the Tavush general prosecutor’s office that a resident of the city of Berd, 30-year-old Mher G.posted a notice in March about selling a vulture for $500 US online.

An investigation confirmed that in March, not too far from Berd, Mher G. hunted a Lammergeier (Bearded Vulture), a threatened species, resulting in 250,000 drams (about $675 US) in material damages to the state.

The vulture was found and handed over to Yerevan zoo management, according to the police press service.
