Etchmiadzin Reprimands Swiss Pastor

Father Abel Manoukian has been deprived of some of his authorities beginning on May 10, upon a decision by His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, for rejecting the Swiss Diocese established canon, not recognizing the appointment of the St. Jacob church pastor and vicar, and for not fulfilling Patriarchal instructions to present himself to the Mother See, according to a release issued by the Etchmiadzin press office.

Fr. Abel Manoukian has been instructed to present himself to the Monastic Brotherhood at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin within a week’s time.

During this time, the pastor is forbidden from conducting any rituals or ceremonies, otherwise the ceremony is considered null by the church.
