Emmy’s performance was an average Eurovision performance, but in any case, Azerbaijan’s performance was good, said singer-songwriter Lilit Pipoyan, speaking to Epress.am about the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest.
“Emmy, with her energy and her moves, had a normal performance. But, in my opinion, they shouldn’t have made her dance so much — if she moved less, she would’ve sung better. As for the songs, let me say I’ve heard a few songs and all were the same type of stupid boom-boom, ah-ah,” she said.
According to Pipoyan, it would be good if Armenia didn’t participate in next year’s Eurovision, more so because it’ll be held in Azerbaijan.
“It seems to me if we don’t participate for a year, it would be very good, and in general, we can not participate for a few years. Italy didn’t participate for 25 years, but their music culture is on normal course. We can not go more so because it will be held in Azerbaijan. The clamor around this stupid contest is a bit much,” she said.
