On May 14, a special rescue squad with Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Situation retrieved the body of a woman from the 8th reservoir of the Kanaker Hydroelectric Power Station. Rocks were fastened to the woman’s hands and legs and a bag was wrapped over her head.
According to the ministry, the woman was Marine Galstyan, a lecturer at the Yerevan State Linguistic University named after V. Brusov, who had been missing since December.
Galstyan, 54, left her house on Dec. 13, 2010, and did not return. At the time, a criminal case under Article 104 (“murder”) of the RA Criminal Code had already been launched.
