Azerbaijan today sows hatred towards the Armenian people — it is part of the state policy of the country, said president of the de-facto Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Bako Sahakyan in an interview with Ekho Moskvy (“Echo of Moscow”) radio. The interview was conducted by the radio station’s first deputy editor Sergei Buntman, who travelled to Stepanakert, the capital of NKR, for this purpose.
He noted that there is a state program to increase hatred towards the Armenian people in all preschools, schools and universities in Azerbaijan. “And today, Azeri children, hearing the word ‘Armenian,’ think this is something inhuman, something wild.”
“We believe that such policies hurts not only the Armenian people, but also the Azeri people,” he said.
