Starting on Jun. 16, five buses in Yerevan will be equipped with free wi-fi internet, as part of a pilot project by Yerevan Municipality and Orange. Five buses servicing routes mainly used by students are now equipped with Orange MyFi 3G/wi-fi modems which create a mobile wi-fi zone and allow to simultaneously connect 5 devices such as smartphones, laptops, netbooks, and tablets.
“This is an interesting and important project for us, as it will allow us to test our MyFi service and its possibilities in different areas of the city, and on the other hand, it will make our services more accessible. I hope that Yerevan inhabitants will like this opportunity of mobile wi-fi and they will profit from time spent on the bus to make it more interesting. If the pilot project is successful, we will think about equipping more buses with Wi-Fi,” said Orange Armenia CEO Bruno Duthoit.
