Armenia and Poland will be co-charing the Bologna Process in the coming 6 months (from Jul. 1 to Dec. 31). Armenia’s education and science ministry plans to organize a number of events in Armenia as part of the Bologna Process, the first of which, an international student summer school titled “The Role and Involvement of Students in the Bologna Process,” has already kicked off in the Armenian town of Tsaghkadzor. Around 100 students from over 15 countries are participating in the summer school.
Armenian education minister Armen Ashotyan informed summer school participants that during the given period, four events will be organized in Armenia, which are officially registered on the Bologna Secretariat site and are considered pan-European formal education events.
“This is also a political opportunity, thanks to these events, to introduce foreigners to Armenia, its history,” said Ashotyan.
According to the education minister, getting involved in the Bologna Process has contributed to the integration of Armenia’s education system into the European higher education arena.
“Of course, let’s not hide [the fact] that this is also a political direction, because the Bologna Process is one of the platforms, ways, directions of European integration,” he added.
“Due to joining the overall educational arena, Armenian diplomas will receive wider recognition in European countries, while education certificates from Armenia, thanks to moving to a 12-year educational system, are comparable to European educational standards, and finally, thanks to these reforms, Armenia not through words, but really has become a part of a united Europe,” he said.
