Newspaper Chief Editor Arrested in Azerbaijan

The chief editor of Azərbaycan Gündəmi has been arrested for accepting bribes.

According to an official statement issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of work undertaken jointly by employees of the Interior Ministry’s Department of Combating Organized Crime and the Anti-Corruption Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office, Elnur Mammadov, chief editor of the Baku-based Azərbaycan Gündəmi, was arrested while accepting a bribe of 1,000 AZN (about $1,200 USD), reports News.az, citing APA news agency.
