Yerevan Prepares to Host 5th Pan-Armenian Games

The 5th Pan-Armenian Games will take place in Yerevan from Aug. 13 to 21. The Games will kick off at the Vazgen Sargsyan Republic Stadium and wrap up at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex. This news was conveyed to Epress.am by Pan-Armenian Games World Committee member Anna Vardanyan

According to Vardanyan, they have already received 2,000 applications from 60 cities in Armenia and from the Diaspora, and they continue to receive more.

“Since this year is the 5th Pan-Armenian Games, it’s also a jubilee. Both the opening and closing will be festive; it’s possible that there will also be a concert program. During the Games, there will be one day of rest during which time, considering the athletes’ preferences, we will visit historical-cultural and recreational sites in Armenia,” she said.

The Games will be held in various gymnasiums in Yerevan where preparations are already underway. The 5th Pan-Armenian Games will feature 10 sporting events including football (soccer), mini-football, volleyball, basketball, swimming, table tennis, badminton and so on.
