Armenia’s Newest Political Party to Announce its Next Steps in September

The recently formed Free Democrats political party will have its first conference during the first half of September, board member Artur Avtandilyan (pictured) told Epress.am on Monday.

The party’s activities, the format of its participation in the upcoming elections, its position on resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as its vision as it pertains to domestic and foreign policies will be announced during the conference, said Avtandilyan.

Recall, former members of the Pan-Armenian National Movement (HHSh) party Khachatur Kokobelyan and Ararat Zurabyan formed the Free Democrats party in early June this year. On Jun. 6, former US Ambassador to Armenia Marie Yovanovitch met with party leaders with whom she discussed the development of domestic and foreign policies, democracy and civil society.
