Holy Etchmiadzin Did Not Purchase the Toyotas, They Were Donated, Says Spokesperson

The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin did not purchase Toyota vehicles, but rather was given them as a donation, said Mother See press spokesperson Father Vahram Melikyan, report local media.

Earlier, local media reported that in the last year alone, the Mother See purchased from a local dealership 7 Toyota vehicles valuing a total of $309,000 USD.

According to Father Vahram, benefactor Samvel Karapetyan had donated the vehicles to the Mother See about two years ago. The Mother See spokesperson also denied reports of the Mother See acquiring another vehicle, apart from the 7 Toyota cars. He said this vehicle to was donated — this time by a Dutch pilgrim.
