Armenia’s military aircraft are used during wedding ceremonies, a retired major who worked in an Armenian military base till 2010 told Epress.am. Being concerned about his personal safety, he spoke on condition of anonymity.
According to the former military official, wealthy and influential people rent military aircraft that display the Armenian tricolor in the sky during wedding ceremonies for their children and relatives.
The source also mentioned that the army’s leadership likewise makes use of military equipment for their own personal use. For example, Chief of General Staff of Armenia’s Armed Forces, Colonel-General Yuri Khachaturov previously has rented a helicopter to go hunting.
