At their next meeting, the Armenian National Congress (HAK) and the ruling coalition delegations will discuss the issue of pre-term presidential and parliamentary elections, said HAK senior representative Levon Zurabyan, speaking to reporters on Tuesday after the second meeting of the two camps.
According to him, during the meeting, “we decided at this time to resolve the most important issue, which is establishing the agenda of our negotiations.”
“I can congratulate you — the agenda has been established,” he said, noting that the following proposal that the Armenian National Congress provided to the press earlier has been included inthe agenda: “With the aim of quickly establishing a legitimate government in Armenia, holding pre-term presidential and parliamentary elections and implementing necessary measures for ensuring that they are free, fair and lawful.”
That the question of early elections was included in the negotiations’ agenda was also confirmed by head of the ruling coalition delegation Davit Harutyunyan.
Note, the government delegation representatives, in turn, presented the following proposal: “With the aim of properly holding elections, establishing rules to ensure civilized competition,” which was included in the agenda with mutual consent.
“The agenda has been set; the next meeting will be held on Aug. 4 at 12 pm, where we will move on to substantive discussions,” concluded Zurabyan.
