Armenia Intends to Double, Triple Trade Volumes with Iran

The Armenian government intends to increase its trade with Iran by 2–3 times, said Armenian agriculture minister Sergo Karapetyan during a press conference in Iran, reports SalamNews, citing the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

 

According to news reports, Karapetyan was negotiating the delivery of tractors and other agricultural machinery to Armenia from Iran. The agriculture minister also expressed appreciated for Iranian investments into Armenia’s economy.

 

Karapetyan said that bilateral trade totaled $320 million USD last year, while for the first 5 months of this year it was already at $160 million USD.
