Sarkozy Opens Charles Aznavour Museum in Yerevan

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who is in Armenia on a state visit, together with French chansonnier of Armenian origin Charles Aznavour participated in the opening ceremony of Aznavour’s house-museum in the Armenian capital, Yerevan.

After the opening, the two state leaders made speeches in France Square and together unveiled the Auguste Rodin statue of Jules Bastien-Lepage, which is France’s gift to Armenia.

From France Square, Sarkozy departed for Zvartnots International Airport where an official farewell ceremony took place, reports the Armenian presidential press office.

Note, Sarkozy is on route to Baku, after which he will go to Tbilisi; thus, completing his brief tour of the three South Caucasus countries.
