Murder in Goris: 20 Year-Old Stabs Father with Kitchen Knife During Fight

At 7:10 pm on Oct. 9, Goris police picked up an emergency call that a man was killed in one of the apartments in Getapnya St. in the southeastern Armenian town of Goris.

Arriving on the scene, emergency workers found the body of Yervand Sayunts, 52, soaked in blood in the living room.

An examination of the body revealed Sayunts had several cuts and stab wounds.

It later became known that the victim died around 6:30 pm on the same day. During an altercation with his 20-year-old son, the latter stabbed his father with a kitchen knife.

The son was taken into police custody and later confessed to committing the crime, according to a statement on the official website of the Armenian police.
