The RA Ministry of Defense reports that a criminal case under charges of RA Criminal Code Article 110 Section 1 has been launched in connection with the death of draftee Vladimir Asatryan, 19, who was on guard duty on the frontline in Nagorno-Karabakh when he reportedly shot himself with his AKM assault rifle at around 10:40 am on Oct. 9.
The defense ministry also notes that it has determined those individuals who might have a connection with Asatryan’s suicide and an investigation is underway.
Furthermore, Armenia’s defense ministry states that in the writing on Asatryan’s left hand there were no names of senior army officers.
