Earthquake Struck Armenia Earlier Today. Epicenter Near Garni

At 12:30 pm today, an earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale occurred 10km west of the Armenian town of Garni, which is about 28km southeast of the capital, Yerevan. The quake struck at a depth of 7km and its epicenter had a magnitude of 5.0.

The earthquake was registered in the cities of Yerevan and Abovyan with a 3–4 magnitude.

The quake was followed by two shocks (at 12:31pm and 12:32pm) with 2.0 and 3.0 magnitudes, respectively, reports the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations news service.
