From now on, Armenia’s Ministry of Defense will take on a more severe approach to those who discredit the army at any cost, said RA Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan at an Oct. 28 ministry meeting.
“If those individuals try to harm the army by spreading false information and slander, they will inevitably be brought to justice” in court, he said according to a statement on the ministry’s official website.
At the same time, however, he said that the ministry understands and accepts the public’s “constructive criticism” toward the army after recent events; moreover, “this criticism is helpful and lessons should be learned from it.”
Ohanyan also issued orders to the commanders present at the meeting directed at preventing such incidents in the army.
