Grand Mufti of the Caucasus Not Yet Confirmed Visit to Armenia

Haji Allahshükür Hummat Pashazade Sheikh ul-Islam and Grand Mufti of the Caucasus has repeatedly stated his intention to participate in the meeting of the Presidium of the Interreligious Council of the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), set to take place in Armenia from Nov. 29–30, but his final decision is still pending, the press service of the Baku-based Administration of Muslims of the Caucasus (AMC) told Vesti.az, commenting on reports by Armenian media on the Grand Mufti’s participation.

On Friday, Armenian media, citing Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians His Holiness Karekin II, reported that the Presidium meeting will be attended by the co-chairs of the Interreligious Council of the CIS: Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill and chair of the Administration of Muslims of the Caucasus, Haji Allahshükür Hummat Pashazade Sheikh ul-Islam.
