Armenia PM Accused of Embezzlement, Appeals to General Prosecutor

Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan (pictured) on Monday submitted an appeal to the RA General Prosecutor’s office to examine the claims in Harutyun Arakelyan’s statements and to launch a criminal case according to the statements, said the prime minister’s press secretary Aram Ananyan.

Recall, Democratic Liberal Party of Armenia (HRAK) leader Harutyun Arakelyan is accusing the prime minister in embezzling $31 million USD of state funds in the process of the sale of Nairit Plant in 2006 (when Tigran Sargsyan was head of the Central Bank).
