‘Festive Yerevan’: Business Owners Obliged to Clear Sidewalks Outside their Businesses

Particularly after snow- or rainfall, business owners are required to clear and clean up the areas adjacent to their business, said Yerevan deputy mayor Kamo Areyan at a meeting in Yerevan City Hall today.

Business owners’ obligation to improve areas adjacent to their business was a Yerevan Council of Aldermen decision. Accordingly, we have to monitor the situation with respect to fulfilling obligations, he said.

Also discussed at the meeting was decorating the Armenian capital in preparation for the winter holidays, with heads of administrative districts and the Trade and Services Department being instructed to wrap up this work as soon as possible and ensure all holiday lighting is in place.

Relevant city officials were also instructed to work get cracking on sweeping the streets, bridges, parks, gardens, and courtyards.

“Yerevan must have an clean appearance in line with its holiday decorations,” said Areyan.
