Accused Commits Suicide in Shirak Marz Prison Holding Cell

Twice convicted Gyumri resident Gor Manukyan, 43, committed suicide in the holding cell for detainees at the Akhuryan Police Department in Armenia’s Shiraz marz (province), reports Shirak Centre NGO.

According to news received by the organization, the incident took place in the afternoon of Dec. 10. Manukyan hung himself with a sheet from the bed.

The prisoner had been arrested for large theft and had been released from the prisoners’ cell a few days earlier.
