Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summed up the year in terms of conflict resolution, including the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict among a number of other conflicts.
“With the purpose of promoting peacekeeping in the post-Soviet territories, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, with the participation of the Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. met in Sochi (in March) and Kazan (in June), during which time [the parties] managed to reach an understanding on several key aspects of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” reads an official statement on the Russian foreign ministry website.
