Pak Shuka Roof was Being Demolished Without Permission: Yerevan City Hall

Without obtaining the required permission, Tiv 1 Shuka (“No. 1 Market”) CJSC, the company currently renovating the famous Pak Shuka (“closed market”) in central Yerevan, began replacing the wooden part of the roof.

The area is being surveyed and a protocol drawn up based on Article 154 of the RA Code on Administrative Offenses on not carrying out demolition work on the roof without permission. Construction has halted and the area is under strict supervision, according to a statement by Yerevan Municipality, which sent high-ranking officials to the site personally after receiving calls by concerned citizens.
