At around 1 pm today, a 67-year-old man who identified himself to the press as Nikolai Aghabekyan attempted to set himself on fire outside the RA Ministry of Finance building in Republic Square in Yerevan, reported the Epress.am correspondent on the scene.
The men began pouring on him an unknown liquid (believed to be gasoline) from a plastic bottle, but police officers managed to stop him from self-immolation. The man was complaining about his poor social conditions and stressed that the bank is not giving him his deposits. Police sat him in a police vehicle and drove away.
