Victim in Felony Case Denies Investigator’s Recorded Testimony

Violations committed by the investigation authorities continue to emerge over the course of the trial of Gor Barnausov and Armen Zarafyan, who have been in police custody for several months.

Recall, Barnausov and Zarafyan are accused of a felony (group assault); meanwhile, they claim that on Mar. 1, 2013, they hit victim Armen Petrosyan once each, 3–5 minutes apart. Petrosyan in court likewise said that the accused beat him separately, and that he was drunk, swore at them, and currently doesn't have anything against them.

Petrosyan testified in court yesterday. It became clear from his testimony that there is false information in the case. In court, Petrosyan said that the investigator questioned him in the hospital, but in the case documents the investigator noted that he questioned the victim in the investigative department of the Yerevan administrative district of Shengavit.
