Armenia is waiting for Ukrainian Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Kukhta who left for Kiev for consultations to return to Yerevan by April 20 and continue to perform his duties.
Head of the Ukrainian Institute for Analysis and Management of Policy Ruslan Bortnik, however, in an interview with local daily Haykakan Zhamanak, yesterday said it's unlikely that Ambassador Kukhta will return before the fall, and it's possible that a completely new ambassador will arrive in Yerevan, who, unlike the current ambassador, will be appointed by Ukraine's new leadership.
"A Ukrainian ambassador in Armenia should be expected either late summer or early fall, since that's the time, according to some forecasts, when the formalizing of relations is planned," said the Ukrainian analyst.
