The program of the new Armenian government was adopted in parliament today, with 70 votes in favor, 1 opposed, and 2 abstentions.
Earlier, 5 factions — Armenian National Congress (HAK), Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), Heritage Party, Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF-D), and Rule of Law (OEK) — said they wouldn't be participating in the vote. Minutes before the start of voting, OEK MP Karen Botoyan said he's leaving the faction and will be voting in favor of the government program. Ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) lawmakers responded to Botoyan's statement with applause.
Note, voting against the program was Khachatur Kokobelyan, while Heritage Party MP Alexander Arzoumanian and HAK MP Hrant Bagratyan abstained.
