The joint Armenian-Russian group on migration issues at the working level agreed upon the texts of two agreements with which citizens going from Armenia to Russia will have 30 and not 7 days to get registered. In addition, Armenian labor migrants will not have to obtain a work permit, said head of the State Migration Service Gagik Yeganyan, who was in Moscow on May 29 to discuss the agreements, reports News.am [AM].
"The texts of two agreements were agreed on a working level with the Russian Federation, one of which allows citizens leaving from Armenia to get registered in a period of not 7 but 30 days. Furthermore, our migrants can engage in work activities without a work permit. This means that the status of a migrant with a work contract and his family in the given city will be considered lawful," he said.
According to Yeganyan, already signed is the protocol with which on May 30, the parties began the process of harmonization. In the coming months, the agreements will be signed and the decision will enter into force.
