Armenian Oligarch Known for Forging Vodka Brands Could Be Given Tax Break: Armenian Times

The Government of Armenia at its meeting today will discuss the issue of granting a tax break of almost $1 million to A & G Ltd. As reported by local daily Haykakan Zhamanak publisher Hayk Gevorgyan in today's issue of the paper, if the decision is adopted this company will be released from the obligation of paying a VAT of $1 million at the border and will be able to pay this tax after 3 years.

Gevorgyan writes that it's impossible to find information online on A & G, but one can get information from the Yerevan City chain of supermarkets belonging to Republican Party of Armenia MP, oligarch Samvel Aleksanyan (moniker: "Lfik Samo"). Nearly all the cheap bottles of vodka of dubious origin designed to look like expensive foreign brands that are sold in these supermarkets have A & G Ltd. listed as the manufacturer.

A & G, Gevorgyan writes, is the "cousin" of Samvel Aleksanyan's Alex Grig and is just as close to "Lfik" as Alex Grig.
