Nubarashen penitentiary convict Karen Fitljyan, 34, who was serving a 15-year sentence for multiple counts of assault and robbery, died on September 26 as a result of a delayed medical treatment, local “Zhoghovurd” daily reports citing own sources.
Fitljyan's health condition, as noted in the article, had been getting worse for the last few days of which the convict informed the prison authorities.
“Authorities, most likely, failed to address the convict's complaints. As a result, on the night of September 25-26 Fitljyan's health deteriorated sharply, and the penitentiary management called an ambulance; however, [doctors] were unable to save Karen's life,” “Zhoghovurd” writes.
