Armenian Soldier Died From Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound, Officials Say

Update: In a statement issued Friday, Armenia's Investigative Committee said conscript Terteryan fatally shot himself in the head with his service gun. Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Article 110.1 of the RA Criminal Code (incitement to suicide).

19-year-old Armenian soldier Davit V Terteryan was fatally wounded at around 1 pm on February 18 at one of the northern military units of the Nagorno Karabakh (NKR) Defense Army, the press service of the NKR defense ministry said Thursday.

Investigation is underway to determine the still “unknown circumstances” of the conscript's death, Karabakh military authorities said.
