Official documents show that Armenia's regional government bodies do their best to keep up with Yerevan Municipality in terms of wasting state resources, Zhoghovurd newspaper writes.
“This year, Vanadzor Municipality has managed to buy trash cans for 100 000 drams (about $204) a piece, thus breaking the record of even the Yerevan Mayor's office, where they've paid 78,000 drams for a can,” the paper notes.
Vanadzor city authorities, Zhoghovurd continues, have bypassed their metropolitan colleagues in the purchase of gasoline as well, having bought regular petrol for official cars for 440 drams per liter. “Given the fact that a liter of regular petrol is currently sold across Armenia for 410 drams, one can imagine the kind of lengths Vanadzor authorities must have gone to find such expensive gasoline,” the daily stresses.
