The opposition Yerkir Tsirani party yesterday issued a statement to inform that party leader Zaruhi Postanjyan had received a call from the administration of the Heratsi high school and threatened that her 15-year-old daughter would be expelled for having participated in a strike.
According to the statement, Postanjyan earlier on Thursday held a peaceful action outside the school, in the course of which she was attacked by three women and a man. The group forcibly took away the oppositionsist’s loudspeaker, squeezed her hands and hurt her fingers.
Police officers at the scene did not take any actions to prevent the violence against Postanjyan, the statement added. “What’s more, their apparent inaction in fact encouraged these people’s aggression.” The party has filed a crime report with the police.
