Georgia and Lithuania to Send Medical Brigades to Armenia

Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia declared at today’s Cabinet meeting that Georgia will send a group of doctors to Armenia.

“We must mutually aid each other. I have daily interaction with the Prime Minister of Armenia, as do ministers of health, economy, foreign affairs of both countries. We have identified the kind of assistance our neighbors need. The Ministry of Health has its first task and the first assistance will be in the form of sending in medical teams,” announced Gakharia.

Earlier it was announced that Ministers of Health of Armenia and Georgia had telephone talks over regional partnership in the fight against COVID-19.

On June 10, it was announced that Lithuania will also send a medical team to Armenia to fight the new coronavirus contagion in the country. Lithuania’s Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius’s twitter post confirms the Lithuanian government’s decision.
