Kim Kardashian last month surpassed 10 million followers on Twitter, but it’s safe to say US President Barack Obama won’t be joining those ranks anytime soon, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
According to First Lady Michelle Obama, the president has no interest in the Kardashian family’s show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians — even though his daughters, 13-year-old Malia and 10-year-old Sasha, watch it sometimes.
“Barack really thinks some of the Kardashians — when they watch that stuff — he doesn’t like that as much,” Michelle Obama said in a roundtable interview with iVillage.com.
But the First Lady said she doesn’t mind her daughters watching the E! show as long as they are taking away something positive about it.
“I sort of feel like if we’re talking about it, and I’m more concerned with how they take it in — what did you learn when you watched that,” she said. “And if they’re learning the right lessons, like, that was crazy, then I’m like, OK.”
President Obama has met at least one of the Kardashians: Kim’s sister Khloe accompanied her husband, LA Laker Lamar Odom, to the White House in January 2010 when he honored the then-NBA champions.
Afterward, she tweeted: “Such an amazing day! I just meet Obama with my husband! :)”
And Kim Kardashian once said that Obama was the first presidential candidate to get her “motivated enough to vote,” though she did challenge him earlier this year about why the US government hasn’t recognized the Armenian Genocide.
