Azerbaijani Singer Recalls Award Armenia Bestowed Upon Her

People’s Artist of Azerbaijan and Milli Meclis (Azerbaijan’s parliament) deputy Zeynab Yahya qizi Khanlarova (Zeynab Khanlarova) is sure that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan will be resolved soon, and Armenians and Azeris will live in peace, she said in an interview with the Baku-based Vesti.az.

“Back in 1978, I was awarded the title People’s Artist of the Armenian SSR. Recently I heard that Armenians are singing my new song ‘Regretfully, You’ve Sunk Into My Soul’ — our ambassador in Russia Polad Bülbüloğlu, who travelled to Armenia, told me that. There he was asked about the availability of my new album,” she said.

“Let those be cursed who created a rift between our two nations. In the name of humanity, I believe that our conflict will be resolved very soon, and we shall live in peace and understanding,” she added.
