It is Russia that has the greatest interest in the situation of no war, no peace in the Karabakh conflict and Armenia-Turkey relations not being settled, believes Armenian Center of Democracy, Security and Development expert, former member of Armenia's mission to NATO Mushegh Mkrtchyan.
In conversation with local daily 168 Zham's correspondent, the expert explained it this way: "I propose for a moment to suppose that Armenia and Azerbaijan have resolved the Karabakh conflict and Turkey opened its border [to Armenia]. Then what would be the need for Russia's military presence in Armenia — and at Armenian taxpayers' expense? So who benefits from maintaining tensions with Azerbaijan and Turkey?"
