Former PM to Renounce Party Membership to Become Armenian Ambassador: Press

Former Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan (pictured) in the near future will freeze his membership to the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), reports local daily Zhoghovurd, citing its sources. 

The issue is that, according to the RA Law on Diplomatic Service, diplomatic activity is incompatible with active partisan activities. For this reason, Tigran Sargsyan will also leave the executive body of the HHK, reports the paper. 

Note, according to the rumors, Sargsyan will be appointed Armenia's Ambassador to the US.
