Border Crossers are Mainly Those with Mental Issues – Seyran Ohanyan

The Armenian Ministry of Defense has created a system to combat enemy sabotage along the border. Today, Armenian Defense minister Seyran Ohanyan, announced news of the system during a meeting with professors and students at Yerevan State University. According to him, attempts of enemy diversion have been halted due to the capabilities of the engineering equipment at the border.

In reference to border village residents who have crossed the border, Ohanyan stressed, that it is not possible to monitor every meter of the mountainous segments of the border and that open zones have special signs. Ohanyan claims, that the border has mainly been crossed by people with mental issues, who have not paid attention to nearby signs.

The Ministry of Defense confidently stated that, despite “the enemy being uncomfortable,” the Armenian side has created such conditions where it is not possible to put pressure on Armenia and Karabakh. While “there is no alternative to Artsakh’s (Karabakh) self-determination.”  

To note, that in recent months a few border village residents have crossed the Armenian-Azerbaijani border; Mamikon Khojoyan, Arsen Khojoyan, and Karen Petrosyan. Armenian mass media has particularly reported on the mental deviations of Mamikon Khojoyan and Karen Petrosyan.
