Armenian Judge’s Unemployed Wife Received Millions in Income and ‘Donations’

Court of the First Instance of Erebuni and Nubarashen Administrative Districts judge Artush Gabrielyan's financial assets amounted to AMD 10 million (about $21,200) and $55 thousand at the end of 2014, according to Gabrielyan's annual asset declaration filed with the state Commission on the Ethics of High-Ranking Officials. The judge, as stated in the official document, receives a monthly salary of AMD 500 thousand (about $1,060).

The local Zhoghovurd daily notes, meanwhile, that the judge's unemployed wife, Lilit Gabrielyan, declared AMD 22 million (about $46,500) and $5 thousand in financial assets. In addition, during the year she sold a Toyota Rav 4 2.4 for $11 thousand and purchased a Lexus Rx 350 for $21 thousand.

“It's noteworthy that the judge's wife, while unemployed, last year declared an AMD 5,5 million income ($11, 600) and a $10,000 donation,” the paper writes.
