Gender-Based Abortion in Armenia? Women in the Park Talk

The next discussion of the program “Women in the Park” organized by the Women’s Resource Center of Armenia (WRCA) will take place at 5:30 pm on Oct. 16 at Sundukyan Park in central Yerevan. 

The theme of this week’s discussion is gender-based abortion. Organizers note that if the weather is poor, participants will gather inside the WRCA at Zarubyan 34. For more information, see the group’s event page on Facebook.

Data reported by the Caucasus Research Resource Centers (CRRC) and in a previously published article in The Economist notes that not only do the South Caucasus countries have some of the highest abortion rates the world, but also there is an abnormal high number of boys being born in the region.
