With the support of the RA Ministry of Education and Science, a new virtual system for students will begin in the fall in Yerevan schools, said Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotyan to journalists at the launch of the web portal Dasaran.Am on Friday.
According to Ashotyan, parents, teachers and principals, by visiting dasaran.am, can not only supervise students’ educational process, oversee absences and behavior, and see the grade average of all subjects, but also establish regular contact with each other.
As told to Epress by the director of the initiative, Pavel Hovhannisyan, the system underwent 4 months of testing in two of the largest schools in Yerevan: school number 114 and 177.
“By studying and analyzing parents’, teachers’ and principals’ opinions and suggestions, [this process] allowed [us] to optimize the system at its best,” he said.
Thus, approximately three hours after the end of classes for that day, students’ grades, the next day’s homework, and teacher comments and suggestions aimed at parents will be available on dasaran.am, on the students’ personal pages.
Hovhannisyan assured that each student’s page will be visible only to his or her parents, who will receive the necessary passwords.
Speaking on the cost of the service, the director said that it won’t cost parents more than 2,000 AMD (about $5 USD) monthly.
