Germany was the leading country in the world with most tourists sent to Turkey in the first seven months of 2010, reports Today’s Zaman, citing the Anatolia News Agency.
According to the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, 14.65 percent of all tourists who arrived in Turkey between January and July were those coming from Germany.
Russians constituted the second largest group of tourists visiting Turkey while the British tourists ranked third.
The number of tourists visiting Turkey between January and July went up 6.67 percent when compared to the same period last year and reached 15,929,702.
Between January and July 2009, 14,933,656 tourists had visited Turkey.
14,437,867 tourists who arrived in Turkey in the first seven months of 2010 came via airplanes.
