Armenian and Azerbaijani Team in Russia Charged with Robbery

A Tyumen, Russia court has ruled that two Republic of Armenia citizens and one Azerbaijan citizen are guilty of robbery and looting. 

According to the regional prosecutor’s office, the defendants were brothers from Armenia Arman and Artur Gevorgyan, and Elchin Mehdiyev from Azerbaijan, reports Uralinform.ru.

The accused first appeared on the police radar when in January 2009, at a local Tyumen cafe, they attacked a resident and stole his mobile phone, money and jacket.

Mekhdiyev has been sentenced for 5 years. Artur Gevorgyan has been sentenced for 4.5 years, while his brother Arman got off with a suspended sentence.
