The presence of Russian military forces in Armenia may have a disciplining effect on all parties in the Nagorno-Karabakh (NKR) conflict, said political analyst Fyodor Shelov-Kovadyaev, reports Vesti.az.
“I don’t think that Azerbaijan, especially under present circumstances, will move toward a military resolution,” he said.
The analyst also noted that in the case of military activities resuming, “There won’t be an automatic decision by Russia for direct military intervention, as in the case of South Ossetia.”
On the settlement of the NKR conflict, he said, “Finding a solution acceptable to both Baku and Yerevan may take decades.”
